We bought this zen suit at a market in Bangkok we found by chance. The whole market is oddly set inside a city block, somewhat hidden from the exterior. It’s probably one of the strangest places we’ve ever been. There was stall after stall of old women chatting, watching T.V, selling and sewing the most outrageous drag queen/lady boy outfits known to man. We picked up this sexy number along with some sequined dazzlers – although this little photoshoot was never meant to make it to air. When we got home we whipped it on and were rolling around the hotel room pissing ourselves laughing. We had big plans to do it again, styled well and shot in a more appropriate setting, but unfortunately it is still in transit in one of the 3-month-boxes sent from Bangers to Melbourne. So instead we decided to photoshop the fuck out of it.

LOL! They are also from the market and no we definitely did not get them made/customized. As far as we could see they are a staple shoe in the ladyboy/drag queen department, as in many various subcultures and yes, like the pair Luxirare had made, these are black with a giant platform. The zen suit is a printed lycra. It’s actually rather amazing, they print the lines after the pieces are cut, to get a really specific finish. Funny, I’m pretty sure the ladies we bought it from didn’t give a fuck, nor were interested in what it was to be used for, and I think the customer for this type of item wouldn’t be the kind to reveal. Haha!
Before I even saw the pic I was saying “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”! (I’m invoking him to wreak havoc on some scum who deserve it after a particularly brutal day yesterday!) Seriously though how fucking fantastic! And I agree with the others, so very Leigh Bowery! You guys have the best eye for style!
