Grad Collection – Cami

SMASHBOX 2009

Aloha, so below is the photo shoot of my Graduate Collection from 2009.
I was very lucky to have the wonderful and amazingly talented Peter Ryle (click to check out all his other superb work) shoot it for me, his refined and always tasteful way of making pictures was exactly what my somewhat tacky and brash way of doing things needed. A fusion of styles led to a shoot I am over the moon with. Thanks Pete, you’re work was fucking brilliant.
I was also lucky enough to have the gorgeous and totally professional Brooke Vardi of Scene Models Sydney on the dream team. It’s bizarre and sublime to see your blood, sweat and tears (the collection, ha) being worn by someone who could not only pull it off, but who intrinsically understood the vibe and character of the pieces. I took some (and I wish I took a lot more) video of her in front of the camera (that I may one day get around to editing into something) and it was phenomenal to watch afterward and notice how she brought the clothes to life, as if she was possessed. Sounds odd, but she was fantastic and as a model, really worked to express the concept, not only look damn hot. Thanks Brooke!
Lastly, my good friend Bridie O’Leary was make up. Words don’t work to express how talented this girl is – Nadia and I are going to feature her soon because she is like a wonder woman, totally fascinating and mind-blowingly dedicated to all things fashion. In fact, she’s like an encyclopedia. Anyway, she killed it on set with the make up – all I had envisioned transpired and she also helped with art direction – thanks doll, you’re the best.

The collection is entitled SMASHBOX…

This was a shoot in the 80th ‘Print is Dead’ issue of OYSTER Magazine.
